Caroline Murphy | Ireland | October, 2024

Caroline reached out to Crystal Travel, looking for help with a group getaway. The group of ten, self-described as a lively bunch of 60-somethings, had one goal in mind: to have fun. They were all about good times, hitting the pubs, shopping, taking in beautiful scenery, and enjoying nice, easy walks. Museums weren’t a top priority, though they figured one or two would be just fine. During the chat, they mentioned a few must-sees, like Waterford Crystal, Sligo (if it could fit), and maybe even a stay in a castle, as long as it didn’t break the budget. Bridie quickly got to work, crafting an itinerary that ticked every box for each individual.

How would you rate your trip?

Who was your travel expert?

Bridie

How were your accommodations?

Great – Bridie chose such a spectacular itinerary for us. She listened when I told her that we wanted to be in the center of things, be able to walk to dinners and stay in places, when possible for 2 nights. She OUTDID herself with the Ballyseede Castle!!!!!!!! SUPERB

Did everything go smoothly with your transportation?

Yes – We had the BEST tour driver (now friend) Pat Griffin of Kennedy tours. The best Driver and SO informed about everything! We had so much fun with him and try as we might to ask him a question he couldn’t answer – we never could!

What tours, attractions, or activities did you particularly enjoy?

We LOVED Ballyseede Castle, the Guinness tour in Dublin. The trip to Dingle was extraordinary. And though the drive of Ring of Kerry was long, we stopped in Doolin, the most precious town for lunch and just had such a great time! We loved our loose itinerary and having the ability to decide if we wanted to tour or not each day. We all agree that the ONLY way to travel is have a private tour to truly make it your own vacation!

What was your favorite part of the trip?

Sooooo hard to say. Each day, each town and city we visited were SOO different! We feel like we really saw all of Ireland – all from the luxurious seats of the Kennedy tour bus and with the wonderful story telling by Pat. We also loved the walkability of Galway, the quantness of Dingle Peninsula (next time we will stay there!) the great shopping in Killarney. All of it!

Would you travel with us again?

Yes!

How can we improve for next time?

We will travel with Cyrstal tours again and will request Bridie for sure! The only thing we would suggest for future bookings is if the guests are travelling to Cork during the jazz festival, to book in a different hotel than the Imperial which is the epicenter of the festival, or at least let the guests know how busy and crazy it is and that the hotel didn’t provide any special accommodations for their guests during this time.

Any other questions or comments?

Bridie did THE BEST job and we could not be happier with Crystal Tours, Kennedy Coaches and Bridie!
