It is with deep sadness that we announce the passing of Teresa Kelly, one of our founding members at Crystal Travel & Tours. She peacefully passed away at home with her family by her side after a brief illness on September 24, 2024.
After leaving her home in Bullaun, County Galway, in 1959 at just 16 years old, Teresa embarked on a new life in Boston. It was here, in 1963, that she met Jim at the State Ballroom. Together, they wove a tapestry of love, exploration, and family, blossoming into proud parents and eventually, adoring grandparents. For Teresa, family was the cornerstone of her existence, and creating treasured memories with her children and grandchildren was her greatest delight.
In 1985, after more than two decades working for Eastern Air Lines at Boston Logan Airport, Teresa and Jim took a bold step to start their own business. They founded Crystal Travel & Tours, infusing their deep-seated love for travel and rich Irish heritage into the heart of the community. Since its inception, the agency has opened the doors to the world for tens of thousands of travelers, guiding them from the charming streets of Galway to the sacred grounds of Medjugorje, a destination that held a special place in Teresa’s heart.
Teresa’s legacy is etched in the hearts of all who knew her, not just for her unwavering warmth and dedication to Crystal Travel, but for her profound commitment to every traveler she touched. Despite the passage of time and the many changes it brought, her enduring passion for uniting people and crafting unforgettable travel experiences remained a constant, leaving an indelible impression on us all.
While we mourn Teresa’s passing, we also celebrate her legacy – one rooted in family, faith, and a lifetime of adventure.
