Begin your adventure by landing at Vágar Airport in the stunning Faroe Islands, where you can conveniently pick up your rental car.
Before departing Vágar Island, take the time to explore the charming village of Gásadalur. Stroll along the marked nature trail and soak in the breathtaking views of Tindhólmur and the magnificent Múlafossur waterfall cascading into the ocean. Afterwards, settle in at your hotel in Vágar for a restful night.
Before leaving Vágar Island, you may consider hiking to Trælanípa and Bøsdalafoss waterfall*. This scenic trek along the lake offers an easy and picturesque stroll along an ancient path leading to the peat field. At the lake’s end, be captivated by the stunning Bøsdalafossur waterfall, which dramatically cascades into the Atlantic Ocean.
Later in the day, begin your journey to the village of Tjørnuvík, nestled among steep mountains, where you can admire the striking rock formations known as the Giant and the Witch. Cross the bridge connecting the islands of Streymoy and Eysturoy, until you reach your accommodation in Eysturoy.

After a day of adventure and exploration, unwind and relax as you settle in for the night in your hotel.
This morning, embark on a scenic drive through the sub-sea tunnel to the charming fishing town of Klaksvík. Once there, don’t miss the opportunity to hike to the summit of Klakkur, where you’ll be rewarded with stunning views of the islands of Kalsoy and Kunoy, as well as the town of Klaksvík itself.
Next, make your way to the quaint village of Kunoy, before continuing to Viðoy Island to visit Viðareiði, the northernmost village in the Faroe Islands. This hidden gem is certainly worth the trip!
After a long day, settle in for the night in the Northern Islands. Unwind for the evening, or venture out to explore some more. Consider enjoying a refreshing beer from the local brewery, Føroya Bjór, which has garnered numerous awards and accolades for its exceptional brews.
Today, venture through the other Northern Islands, each showcasing dramatic and captivating landscapes. Take a ferry from Klaksvík to Kalsoy, affectionately known as the Recorder, due to its 12-kilometer winding road that traverses four tunnels and connects the island’s four villages.
Be sure to stop in Mikladalur, where you can admire the stunning Seal Woman sculpture by the ocean. Keep moving to Trøllanes, located at the northern tip of the island. A hike to the beautifully situated Kallin lighthouse awaits here.*
While in Klaksvík, don’t miss visiting Biskupstorg, the new center of the town. This vibrant area features apartments above, with shops and a café on the ground floor. The café is the perfect spot to relax after your day of exploration. Spend another night in the Northern Islands, soaking in all the beauty and adventure this region has to offer.

Visit some of the nearby villages, starting with Oyndarfjørður, where you can marvel at the legendary Rocking Stones—said to be enchanted pirate ships gently swaying in the water. Next, head to the village of Runavík and stop by the local tourist office for information and visiting hours for the historic Rectory in Nes.
As you make your way toward Æðuvík, consider taking a short detour to the windmills, a favorite walking spot among locals. In the village of Toftir, don’t miss visiting Navia, a charming yarn store offering a wide selection of Faroese sweaters, yarn, and wool products.
As you drive toward Tórshavn, move through the sub-sea tunnel to witness the unique underwater jellyfish roundabout. After a day of discovery, check in to your hotel and unwind for the night.
You will spend the most of the day in Tórshavn, but don’t miss a visit to Kirkjubøur, the historical and cultural center of the Faroe Islands. Kirkjubøgarður, a farmhouse that has been in the same family for 17 generations, is a fascinating place to see, along with the unfinished Magnus Cathedral and the medieval St. Olav’s Church. Once you’ve ventured enough, head back to your accommodation and enjoy your final night in Tórshavn.
This morning, check out of your hotel and head to the airport to begin your journey home or onward travels. At the airport, return your rental car before saying goodbye to the Faroe Islands.
