In 2024, Jessica and her husband embarked on a trip to Scotland with the help of Ann here at Crystal Travel. Eager to experience the Highlands and rural areas alongside the tourist hotspots, they opted for a self-drive itinerary, allowing them the flexibility to explore the stunning Scottish landscapes at their own pace. How were your accommodations?
Great – Scotland was a dream trip and I loved the Highlands the most! It was beautiful. The hotels we were recommended (especially the Loch Ness Country House in Inverness) was such a beautiful property with amazing staff. We loved how accessible everything was, and the amazing memories we created.
Did everything go smoothly with your transportation?
Yes – The car was reliable and got us where we needed to go and great for the roads we needed to traverse down.
What tours, attractions, or activities did you particularly enjoy?
We really enjoyed the Jacobite Cruise, all of our adventures on Skye. However, our absolute favorite was the ferry/bus tour we took to Isle of Mull/Iona/and Staffa. When I think of Staffa, I think I left a piece of me on the cliffs there.
What was your favorite part of the trip?
It’s hard to pick a favorite because the whole trip was simply incredible. I loved hiking through the mountains and heather in Aviemore, sailing down Loch Ness, driving and hiking through Skye, seeing the Isles next to Oban, the whole thing was amazing!

Yes!
How can we improve for next time?
We may like to stay off the beaten path slightly, but that is about it. We really enjoyed this experience! We love Crystal Travel!
