How were your accommodations?
Great. Bridie did a great job of matching our accommodation requests:
Bath: B&B was a very nice 3 story stone house, with a beautiful back garden/lawn, breakfast was incredible and our room on the 3rd floor was large and very nice. Staff were cheery and welcoming, 15 min walk downhill from the center of Bath, took Uber back up. The stairs and walk could be a problem for some, parking was tight very tight but doable.
Port Isaac: The Old School Hotel was incredible both as a hotel and location, room was very large, very nice bath, with an attached large shared deck, small delightful bar and terrific restaurant, walked everywhere, views from the hotel and our room were gorgeous. Good parking this time of year.
Best Western Lamphey: Converted Mansion was a big surprise and not what we expected, location was rural with wonderful views, the pool and spa were very nice, breakfasts were terrific as well as the restaurant, room was large and nice, location is ideal for driving to explore this beautiful Pembrokeshire from castles to seashores. Plenty of parking
Vanbrugh House Hotel: Excellent location in Oxford which has very few downtown lodging options, room was very tight but nice, up 2 flights of stairs. Parking was in a public parking lot no attendant close by – cost was $50 per 24 hrs. But decided it was worth it for our 2 day stay (apparently visitors park in public lots outside of town and catch a bus into town, walked everywhere and it was terrific.
Windsor: Sir Christopher Wren Hotel: This is a remarkable world class hotel located in old Windsor buildings and superbly renovated, including air conditioning 😁, room was small but very comfortable, location on the Thames River and close to Windsor Castle was just perfect. No parking on site but close by.
Did everything go smoothly with your transportation?
Yes. Rental car with Enterprise was excellent, except for an hour wait picking up the car, not sure why but it looked like in their system an employee takes you to your car and if you don’t want that car you look until you find one you like including color choice, never seen a rental car check out like this, employees were very nice, return was much more efficient. I booked my own direct flight from Nashville to Heathrow using flight miles.
What tours, attractions, or activities did you particularly enjoy?
The whole trip and sights were incredibly wonderful from castles (ruins to remarkably restored) Roman Baths, ancient stone circles (Avebury), villages, ancient colleges/university, historical architecture, beautiful rivers and the coastal views of the Atlantic. We loved it all.
What was your favorite part of the trip?
This is the first time I’ve used a professional travel agency and you made it so easy. I was skeptical that it was going to work for us and our style of traveling (we like to explore on our own) but Bridie “knocked it out of the park for us. I was hoping your insider knowledge would help and it certainly did work for us.
Would you travel with us again?
Yes.
